At Act Alive Academy we offer a Fall, Winter and Spring term each year.
Each term is an equal length and can be taken individually without committing to the whole year. All of our instructors are industry professionals who bring their many years of training to every class.
Though we help develop very skilled performers and yogis, we value process and aim to make the experience of learning fun and inspiring as students gain new skills and strengthen existing ones.
AGES 5 - 12
Come and start your weekend off to a peaceful start with our Friday afternoon yoga classes.
Each week the practice of yoga will be explored through poses and flows, art, games, myth, mantra, breath work and more as we build community and foster friendships through shared experiences and open discussions. Students will leave each week with tools for emotional regulation, the seeds for a healthy body image, and sharper more focused minds after attending this fun and inspiring class. No classes Oct 22 or Nov 12.
Ages 5-8 Years | Friday: 3:45 - 4:45pm
Ages 9-12 Years | Friday 4:45-5:45pm
MINIS - AGES 3-5
Whether your child loves the spotlight or needs a little help to come out of their shell, they will have a blast exploring the magical world of singing, dancing and acting.
In this intro to musical theatre class, kids will have the opportunity to make new friends and have their imaginations sparked while building their confidence and sense of self through creative play and character exploration. They will also love rehearsing a musical theatre song and dance to be filmed and sent to parents at the end of the term.
Students enrolled in our Spring term will also have the opportunity to perform in our Centre Stage production of Matilda in June.
CENTRE STAGE PROGRAM
Students in our Centre Stage Program will meet once a week for two hours of training and exploration of singing dancing and acting.
Though it is divided into 3 age groups on separate nights, all students in the Centre Stage Program will unite in June to perform a production of Roald Dahl’s Matilda Jr for the Squamish community. Students will get the thrill of being in a professionally produced show, complete with sets, costumes, lighting and sound and more while gaining confidence in themselves and creating lasting relationships with like minded individuals.
The year is divided into 3 terms, which will all be complete units and later complied to complete the full production.
There is no pressure to commit to the end of the year unless you decide to do so, and students are welcome to join in any term. The more terms you are apart of, the more of the show you will be in. Anyone wanting to perform in the year-end show must be registered for our Show Term.
