Casting call for "Objects" short film
"Objects" is a narrative short about three siblings who come to terms with their father’s death through the objects he left behind.
After the death of their father, three siblings have to return home to Squamish, a small industrial town that is going through rapid gentrification. “Objects” navigates a dysfunctional family dynamic over the course of a day as we follow these siblings whose motivational energies are in direct opposition with one another’s. It is a meditation not only on mourning and its various valances, but on the difficulty of making sense of someone’s life after death, whether through objects they left behind or the assumptions you had of them.
